I am a Gujarat based journalist with more than ten years of experience covering healthcare, gender, sanitation and other development themes for print and digital media in India.

My skills include reporting, writing, editing, video production and data journalism. My last full-time stint was at the digital platform, ThePrint.in, one of India’s most vibrant and fast growing news websites as an Assistant Editor.

I have worked at IndiaSpend, India’s first ever data journalism initiative. I reported on India’s largely underreported issues like malnutrition, healthcare financing, on ground implementation of government’s health schemes among others.

At IndiaSpend, I have won two international awards for my stories on cancer care, a special mention for a series on access for differently-abled and  I was shortlisted for an investigative award for a story understanding infant deaths across districts in India.

I have also worked at The Week, a national weekly, where I covered health and lifestyle. My cover story on unnecessary hysterectomies won the RedInk Award, a national award for excellence in journalism by Mumbai Press Club, my story on gender based abortions in Maharashtra won Laadli Media Award for gender reporting.

I was a jury member for June E Bielder Cancer Journalism Award (2019-21) by American Association for Cancer Research, Philadelphia, USA.

I have also worked with brands on their content development, some of my clients include HCL healthcare, Leprosy Mission Trust, Xynteo and others.

I am interested in projects that include working with under-represented and marginalised communities, uncovering unethical practices,  analysing policies and challenging biases and stereotypes.
